Please note: This is my own personal experience on how I applied for my AOS Adjustment of Status. I am not an Immigration Lawyer or practicing one, I am just providing you with my own personal experience.
This section is all about Our Adjustment Of Status Journey. Getting the K.1 visa is only the start of a long process with Immigration. Once you enter the United States on a K-1 visa you have 90 days to get married, and then you must file to Adjust your status (AOS) to lawful permanent resident.
You need to file your AOS application at your local INS Field office, not one of the four service centers. This was very mis leading as a lot of the forms didn't clarify very well where you should file. As stated on the I-485 form...
"File this application at the INS office having jurisdiction over your place of residence."
You can find your local field office We're filling our application with the Seattle WA INS Office. Clayton ordered the forms online before I emigrated to the US, you can order the forms online
