NON US FORMS

Disclaimer: I am not an immigration lawyer or practising one. I am providing you with my own personal experience. Once the INS has approved the petition they send all the information to the American Embassy in London. The Embassy then waits to receive the next lot of information.

Unfortunately it is now no longer possible to begin the next step of processing, while waiting for the petition to be approved. The United states embassy clearly states this in their website.

"Note: As of March 21, 2003, it is no longer possible to begin the administrative processing of a fiancé(e) visa application until the Immigrant Visa Unit receives the visa applicant's file from the NVC (National Service center in New Hampshire)"

So Do Not Send any non US-Citizen forms to the embassy, before you get the approval notice. On approval of the Petition the London embassy will contact the Non US-Citizen through mail. The London Embassy will include the following in thier packet letter :-

  • Form IV-15 - Instructions for applying for a Non-Immigrant Visa to marry and reside in the US (check list)
  • Form DS-230 Part 1 - Biographic Data
  • Form DS-230 Part 1 - Biographic Data
  • Form DS156k - Non-Immigrant Fiance(e) Visa Application - Supplement to Form DS-156
These forms need to be filled out and send back to the US embassy in London as soon as possible for further processing.
