Our Wedding Story

The Reception

As we were announced Mr. & Mrs. we walked down the isle, with our family clapping in happiness for us. We all gathered together for photos, snap, snap, flash, flash, smile and smile. We then had to sign the register, to make it all official. Sarah (Maid of honor) and Fred (Best Man) were the witnesses. More photos as we were signing, the photographer took many lovely shots of our families. As Clayton & I walked outside for some couple shots the rest of our family went downstairs for the Reception. We joined them very shortly, in which I was given many Lucky Charms.. Horse shoes, Love Spoons, Teddy Bears. This is generally a U.K tradition, where family & friends give the Bride Lucky Charms, they often are tied with ribbon and hung from the Brides wrist. The photographer took many other shots of this, as she had never seen such a tradition.

Clayton and I sat at our table with the Bridesmaids, as we were toasted "Husband & Wife". We then started the line at the Buffet table, the food was lovely everything was very well presented. The meat & cheese trays were yummy, as well as the desert trays. Everyone sat down and eat, and had a really good time just visiting with people from their tables. My mum got up and headed to our table with a bunch full of Wedding cards. Again it's a U.K tradition to read Wedding cards out at the Reception, so my mum read a few cards out. She also read this very emotional poem out to me, that got her all teary eyed. I was trying to hold the tears back, as I had so much make up on, but the poem meant so much to me & to my mother.

It was time to cut the Wedding Cake, the cake was so lovely I didn't want to spoil it. So I made sure everyone took many photos of it before we cut into it. We actually cut into it quite quick, but we had to pretend to cut it again & again for the pictures to be taken. The next part was to feed each other a piece of Wedding cake, I giggled all through this part I thought it was extremely funny. Clayton got cream all over my lips hehe and he bit my fingers when I fed him, so it was pretty funny.
